10 Steps to help you get started planting trees:

Step 1: Commit to participating by planting tree(s) in your yard or in the Mendota Heights community.

Step 2: Select the location for your tree.

Step 3: Determine the species of tree(s) you are going to plant.

Step 4: Decide where to buy recommended trees.

Step 5: Call before you dig.

Step 6: Plant your tree(s)

Step 7: Care for your tree.

Step 8: Report your “roots in the ground” so we can add your tree(s) to the community tree counter!

Step 9: Ask if you need help! We have knowledgeable volunteers who will come to your home, place of business, schoolyard, etc., and offer help in tree species selection and siting. We also have volunteers who will help you plant should you be unable to do so yourself or need an extra set of helping hands. Email us with your requests and we will see how we can help.

Step 10: Ask questions! Like our Meta (Facebook) and Instagram pages in order to stay current on events, news, and other information. Check back to this website. We will update it frequently.
